Moderators: Father John Gordon, Mrs. R. Cristino

Faith Alive! encourages students to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, living their faith each day. Hence, the name of our group “Faith Alive!” Visiting the Salvation Army, Amboy Care Center, Life Choices, and Consolata Missionaries are some places where the students have put their faith into action as well as every day in our school community.
Faith Alive! assists students who did not receive the three Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation – to receive instruction and assistance to become fully initiated into the Catholic Church. These students receive support from their peers at meetings, outings and in their faith journey. Any student of CMHS who has an interest in learning more about their faith and living their faith more fully are welcome to join the group.
Meetings are held twice a month in the Campus Ministry room and discussions focus on the foundations of our faith, led by Fr. John Gordon, school chaplain and Mrs. Cristino. Issues of the day are examined through the lens of the faithful, such as: immigration, poverty, homelessness, etc. (Catholic Social Teaching). Our souls are spiritually nourished by ending each meeting with prayer in the chapel dedicated to the topic of the day and our bodies are also nourished at meetings with some snacks!
